P2P peace march sees swelling numbers on day two (VIDEO)

As Sri Lanka observes its independence day war-affected Tamils continued their second day of the Potthuvil to Polikandy march.

Protesting against continued Human Rights violation, Land grabbing, forced burning of Muslim Covid 19 dead, accountability for alleged war crimes the march continues till 6th February ending in Polikandy near Point Pedro in Jaffna.

On a clear and sunny day, significantly high numbers joined the march known as #P2P to signify the starting and endpoints, led by Velan Swamigal of the Sivagiri mutt in Jaffa.

Chrisitan clergy and Hindu priests joined the march along with civil society people and human rights activists.

They were stopped by the police and informed them a local court has issued restraining orders on 8 persons and if they participate they could be arrested. However, the police informed the peace march could go ahead without disturbing the traffic.
